Sean King at the Industrial Trade Mission
Park Strategies LLC’s current vice president, Sean King, addressed an inbound industrial trade mission from Taiwan that was held at the Taipei Economic & Cultural Representative Office in New York on July 4, 2007. The mission was led by Chih-Peng Huang, director general of the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
It also included vice presidents from four leading state-owned companies, namely Taiwan Power, Chinese Petroleum, China Steel and Taiwan’s Aerospace and Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC).
Sean King spoke right after Taiwan-born New York City Council Member John Liu. He said that Park Strategies managing director Alfonso D’Amato was still committed to Taiwan’s market. He mentioned some challenges in doing business with Taiwan, such as its debilitating credit crunch in 2006, though he also noted that Taiwan was certainly a flexible customer that loves all things related to America.
King also mentioned the renewal of then-President Bush’s Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) and revealed that once Taiwan takes steps in reintegrating itself into the global supply chain, or once the country will find ways to normalize outbound economic relations with mainland China, Park Strategies will readily support a free trade agreement between the United States and Taiwan.
As a person responsible for Park Strategies’ business ventures in Asia, Sean King makes regular public appearances. He frequently engages in public speaking like addressing a speech at a number of conferences, including the University of Chicago’s Annual Asia-Pacific Business Conference.
King earned his MBA from the University of Notre Dame and his undergraduate degree from the American University in Washington, D.C.
